CHAPEL
Chapel Curriculum
Chapel is held every Wednesday with different lessons taught each week. Chapel lessons are divided into 3 age-appropriate groups: one for the 2’s, one for the 3’s classes and one for the 4’s classes. We are currently using a program through Group called “Epic Teachings of the Bible". A typical chapel entails opening prayer, introduction to the main theme/bible story of the day, an object lesson or movie to further explain the main theme, worship music and closing prayer. Chapel lessons are further discussed and expanded on during class time each week.
Fruit of the Spirit Awards
There are nine fruits of the spirit as described in Galatians 5:22-23: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Each month, starting in August, we teach and focus on one of these attributes. At the end of each month every teacher nominates one student from their class who has demonstrated the attribute to be awarded that month’s Fruit of the Spirit Award. Awards are given out during end of the year festivities for all their peers to recognize their accomplishment.
